Our Training Philosophy
We are balanced trainers, employing both food and correction to gain the results that our clients wish to achieve. WE ARE NOT PURELY POSITIVE in our methods. We use training collars of all sorts, including martingales, triple crown collars, prong collars and E-collars–what is right for one dog and handler may not be right for another, so all dogs are evaluated individually, even in a group setting. Our goal is to facilitate the bonding process and get your dog to want to work for you. If training isn’t fun, neither of you will want to do it!
At our first meeting a training plan is formulated by the trainer with the client—we will work on the goals established for your dog while also teaching the basics of good manners, again, helping to establish the bond between you. We feel that building the new skills into your dog’s life is the very best practice no matter what your dog’s age.
We offer a wide variety of training programs, from puppy kindergarten classes to basic and advanced obedience, recall classes, K9 NoseWork classes and AKC Canine Good Citizen certifications. All dogs are welcome here.
